Singaporean Seminarians are leaving for World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney

We are glad to inform all our readers that all 8 of us Singaporean Seminarians will be leaving for Sydney for World Youth Day (WYD) 2008. We will be away from 9th - 22nd July 200. This WYD will have the largest contingent of Singaporeans ever in our local Church history (over 400 young people have signed up) and it is also the first time the Singaporean Seminarians will be going. WYDs have been known to be powerful times of grace when vocations are born and we invite all of you to be united with us that the good Lord will use this time of grace in Sydney to call many of our Singaporean young men to follow him as his priests. It is our prayer that WYD 2008 will be some sort of special delivery room for many new Singaporean Diocesan vocations and we trust that the Lord shall hear our humble pleas.

Also, our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI recently said, "I invite the whole Church to share in this new stage of the great pilgrimage of young people across the world, begun in 1985 by the Servant of God John Paul II. I am certain that from all the corners of the earth Catholics will be united with me and with all the young people gathered - as in the Cenacle - in Sydney, intensely invoking the Holy Spirit so that he will flood hearts with the inner light of love of God and of brothers, and of courageous initiative to introduce Jesus' eternal message in the diversity of languages and cultures."

As articulated by our Holy Father, we invite each of you to be united with us on this pilgrimage and we shall also carry all of you with us as we make this pilgrimage into the heart of the Church with the Vicar of Christ. There we shall all encounter the Risen Lord together. Come, let us be on our way!
